You probably have not heard of this group and perhaps you havenít heard this older song either.
The group, which was founded in 1959, is from a Nordic country that borders Norway and Finland.
They recoded the quiz song, which was written by a cousin of Ira and Charlie.

Robert Glynn ? recorded this song.
It might break Woodmanís heart if he canít figure this one out.

Who is the singer and what is the song title?

Could it be Teenage Queen by Johnny Dee [= John D Loudermilk] which was the only 45 rpm recorded by Loudermilk pressed in Holland

Woodman, Darn! It's like you are reading my mind, LOL. It is "The Great Snowman" which was written by John D. Loudermilk (a cousin of The Louvin Brothers - Ira and Charlie).
Robert Glynn is the birth name of Bob Luman, who recorded the song in 1961.
The group is "Streaplers" (not Steaplers - but I will give it to you). They are from Sweden.

The song can be heard at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1Csc27lVhs
Betcha can't listen to this without tapping your foot.

Nice try bassy9.

Hey Woodman, It is a lot of fun for me to see how long I can stump you guys. So far, it's not very long at all. But that will change! lol
As I do this, I hope to come up with some gems (in my opinion) that most people have never heard but are really wonderful songs. For example the one in this quiz, "The Great Snowman". I can play that song over and over again and not get tired of it. When the chorus comes in I can't help but to sing along with it even though those around me are begging me to shut up, lol. I'm not a great singer. lol
