This will be a tough one for you. I’m not kidding.

When I was a kid I was in love with this girl. I loved watching her on TV.
Merle Travis once said her brother jumped around more than a cricket on a red hot skillet.

The first song I am looking for was recorded by them in 1955. They really rocked this bread.

They did the second song between 1957 - 1961. It was written by Buddy H. and Jerry A. Maybe you'll get it today.

Who are they and what are the songs?

Is it the Browns and here today and gon tomorrow? I'm having trouble with the second song.

Collins Kids - Be My Little Honey (SugarTime) and That'll Be the Day

My husband said you made it too easy, as he also had a 'crush' on the girl - Lorrie Collins (born May 7, 1942) - she is a couple of years older than Fred, and Larry [born October 4, 1944] is a couple of months older than Fred - he idolised them on Ranch Party [a show he never missed]

Woodman, You are also having trouble with the first song, lol. That's not it and it is not the Browns.
There is a big clue with song 2... (Buddy H).

Bass9, I just noticed your post. Yes, it is The Collins Kids and the second song is That'll Be The Day.
Be My Little Honey is not the first song.

Bassy9, Correct. The Collins Kids doing "Shortenin' Bread Rock" and "That'll Be The Day".
Lorrie Collins is 5 years older than me and, like your hubby, I had a big crush on her and really enjoyed Ranch Party. That must be why he is so smart, lol. Larry was a really good guitar player as a kid and he kept hitting all the right stuff even with all the dancing around he did.

I will make things a bit tougher from now on.

The following videos are not the best quality but keep in mind they are from old TV, WHEN THINGS WERE BETTER, lol.

"Shortenin' Bread Rock" can be heard at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNa5sXYdFhY&feature=related
"That'll Be The Day" can be heard at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AraDsy678H4&feature=related

I just fell in love with her again, lol.
