Are you sure Randy Travis did a song of that title? I checked his discography and the only song I found with hero in the title is "Heroes and Friends".

No, Gary, that is not the song. I located the site the song was sung on (http://www.onthisside.net/episodeguide/sympathy.html). It appears to have been done on the TV show, Touched By An Angel", second season. Look at the link, above, and see the 10th paragraph.

But I still cannot locate the words or music for this song.

Here is the 'Touched By An Angel' episode. The song is only a minute long and runs from 19:40 to 20:40.

I suspect that this was written just for the TV program and that may be all there is to it.
