    jullien,
I downloaded the song and have been trying to understand what all the words are. It's tough in places.
This is what I can make out for now, although I'm not 100% sure all of them are correct.
I will listen to it again later to see if I can get the words I am missing.

The Legend of John Wesley Hardin – Terry Lee Hardesty

Now you’ve heard all the stories about Frank and Jesse James
We know of William Bonney, Pat Garrett's claim to fame
From Holliday to Cassidy as legends they stood tall
? ? ? from Texas, he was faster then them all

John Wesley Hardin born in 1853
He had to kill his first man at the young age of 14
Then he left Dallas County, an outlaw on the run
And the ones who tried for fame and glory died by Hardin’s gun

Johnny Wesley Hardin rode the fastest horse alive
When you’re runnin’ from the devil there’s only one place you can hide
You’d better sleep with one eye open, keep one hand on your gun
And one hand on the Bible ????

He shot a man for gold, one night in Abilene
    And he ???
He let them throw him in the prison ‘til he showed restraint
    He ???

Johnny Wesley Hardin rode the fastest horse alive
When you’re runnin’ from the devil there’s only one place you can hide
You’d better sleep with one eye open, keep one hand on your gun
And one hand on the Bible ????

    [INSTRUMENTAL BREAK]

Well they pardoned him from prison after 15 years or so
???? game was Texas ? down in El Paso
John ??? the sheriff there in 1895
A coward shot him in the back, took John Wesley’s life

    John Wesley Hardin ????????
And for 40 years ??? over 40 men had died
Many young men gave their life to see ???
But the guns of Wesley Hardin were the fastest in the west

    Hello Gary,
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME !!!!
Though I'm not a native english speaker,
I'll give you some hints FOR the missing words, hints related to the results of the google searches.

From Holiday to Cassidy as legends they stood tall (maybe IN LEGENDS they stood tall ???)
THEY CAME ALL from Texas, he was faster thAn them all

    Dallas County, it's in fact,
    FANNIN County
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Wesley_Hardin

    In the verse:
And one hand on the Bible ???? - cause he’s born as preacher’s son.

He shot a man for SNORING, one night in Abilene
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_We...snoring.22_man
    And Hickok was the sheriff
    --------------------

Well they pardoned him from prison after 15 years or so
THEN WESLEY CAME IN Texas ROLLING???? down in El Paso
John SELMAN was the sheriff there in 1895
    http://www.history.com/this-day-in-h...illed-in-texas
BUT THE coward shot him in the back, AND took John Wesley’s life

John Wesley Hardin is the HEIR OF THE RYE ????????
And for 40 years OF LIVIN' over 40 men had died
Many young men gave their life to see WHO WAS THE BEST

    - I edited the song in ADOBE AUDITION to make the high frequencies - the consonants - MORE audible than before - and I've uploaded this edited version...
    http://www49.zippyshare.com/v/86058094/file.html

and another edited version, 2 steps up, ( 2 semi-tones) - higher voice, and slower speed of rhythm...a little problem with the quality, though
    http://www8.zippyshare.com/v/36907142/file.html
I'll get back with another message as soon as I can.
PLEASE HAVE A LOOK on these edited mp3 songs, and NOW, YOU correct my errors, please.
    Thank you again!~!!!!

    I believe this is correct.
I did the same as you, sped it up, slowed it down, got rid of Bass, etc., etc.
My changes are in CAPITAL letters..

I just sent the 4th verse to a friend who is really good at hearing, hard to understand words.
Hopefully she will figure the missing words out.
