The recording that they did was a bit off standard pitch so I adjusted a mp3 and will send it to you. That way you can play along without having to re-tune your guitar.
Give this a try. It's kind of how it sounds to my old ears. I did not put the break chords in... they sort of follow the first verse.

    Boulder Skies – Pure Prairie

    [G] [F] [C] [D] [G]

[G] Sew your skirt lace out of time,
While I write the words to rhyme
    [C] Just what I am [D] thinking,
[G] Just what I should [Em] say [C]
    [G] If I have to [C] go I'd rather [G] stay

Colorado canyon girl who set me free,
Brown eyes in the morning looking back at me
And [C] just for that one [D] moment
    [G] You're all that I [Em] see [C]
[G] Searching for some [D] other place to [G] be

    More than any-[F]-one can try I [C] hope you'll see that [D] I belong
[F] Standing [C] right before your [G] eyes
If [F] you can take the [C] time to find where [G] I went wrong
Then I think you [D] just might rea-[G]-lize

    [Break]

[G] So sew your skirt lace and I'll go home
But not quite where I started from
And [C] take it so you'll [D] feel it
And [G] take it so you'll [Em] know [C]
[G] Take one long last [D] look before I [G] go

And more than any-[F]-one can try [C] I hope you'll see that [D] I belong
[F] Standing [C] right before your [G] eyes
And [F] when you have the [C] time to see it's [G] been too long
Then I'll come on [D] back to Boulder [G] Skies
