Slewfoot, You are correct with Johnny Horton as the singer. When I put the hint that the singer was known as "The Singing ?" I thought people would think it was Hank Snow, who was known as "The Singing Ranger". Johnny Horton was known as "The Singing Fisherman". You would think it would be the other way around because Hank Snow was born in Nova Scotia and at a young age worked on a fishing boat as a cabin boy. lol
