Question Lyrics to "Bless Your Pea Pickin Heart"

Hi, I have found the lyrics to many old songs here, but have not been able to find Tennessee Ernie Ford's "Bless Your Pea Pickin' Heart" anywhere.

He recorded the song as a single in the 1950s and as the title song of an album in the 1960s.

I'd appreciate any help in finding the lyrics.

    Thanks,
    Wayne

Wayne, Your search is over, thanks to Rune who sent me the mp3 of the song.

I wrote the lyrics out as I hear them but could not get two parts, marked by ???

I will send you the mp3. Another forum member (Carmen) will listen to it and possibly get the other words. She has a good ear for this stuff. I'll edit the lyrics when she gets back to me.

Bless Your Pea Pickin’ Heart – Tennessee Ernie Ford

When an old friend comes to greet you or a new friend comes to meet you
And you’re looking for the proper words to say
You will be a big sensation in the art of conversation
If you start the conversation and you say

    Bless your pea pickin’ heart
    Bless your pea pickin’ heart
For a greeting or a meeting
    Keep repeating and repeating
    Bless your pea pickin’ heart

When you keep the date you’re dating waiting hours
If you have to miss your sister’s high school play
When you prune away your neighbor’s favorite flowers
They will all forgive you if you smile and say

    Bless your pea pickin’ heart
    Bless your pea pickin’ heart
Tell your waiting date and sister
    Tell your neighbor listen mister
    Bless your pea pickin’ heart

Now when junior paints his room in purple splendor
When your party line ties up your line all day
When your wife comes home with someone ELSE SUSPENDERS (he doesn't say ELSE'S)
Then you’d better count to ten and softly say

    Bless your pea pickin’ heart
    Bless your pea pickin’ heart
Why get gray, why let it get you
Smile and say when they upset you
    Bless your pea pickin’ heart

If the one you love should leave you for another
And you’re sure there is no cure for your dismay
Do not PACK A BRICK and take a trip to mothers
‘Cause the one you love won’t leave you if you say

    Bless your pea pickin’ heart
    Bless your pea pickin’ heart
She won’t leave you if you tell her
She’ll believe you if you tell her
    Bless your pea pickin’ heart

This is great -- thanks. I' haven't heard the song in years, but I think the ???s are "new" and "up", but would appreciate any correction and confirmation.

And by the way, "Bless your pea pickin' heart"!!
